ABOUT

Alice Zarka - Attorney at the Paris Bar

Admitted to the Paris Bar, Alice Zarka was sworn in as an attorney in 2023 after completing her studies in business criminal law and finance at Aix-Marseille University, complemented by a university diploma in compliance (AML-CFT, anti-corruption, GDPR, duty of vigilance).

She was trained by renowned attorneys such as Michel Laval, Patrick Baudouin, Emmanuel Daoud, David-Olivier Kaminski, and Nicolas Huc-Morel. She also worked at the Law Commission with Laetitia Avia and collaborated for several years with attorneys at the Council of State and the Court of Cassation.

Alice Zarka offers comprehensive services in criminal prevention and defense, serving a clientele composed of both individuals and legal entities (private and public companies, associations).

She has litigated numerous cases, some of which have received international media coverage, before all French courts as well as in Monaco.

A fervent advocate for the absolute respect of fundamental freedoms, she provides rigorous defense and tailored support, guided by humanity, confidentiality, and strategy.

PRACTICE AREAS

General Criminal Law and Prison Litigation

+

Alice Zarka intervenes at all stages of criminal proceedings, both for victims and defendants: police custody, preliminary investigation, judicial investigation, criminal court, assize court, and plea bargaining.

She offers meticulous preparation for each hearing or confrontation, including simulations before hearings. Her goal is to defend her clients' interests with rigor and efficiency.

She also intervenes at the stage of pre-trial detention litigation and sentence enforcement.

Business Criminal Law and Compliance

+

Alice Zarka has defended numerous executives and shareholders in financial criminal cases, political-financial cases, environmental criminal law, and public integrity criminal law (public services, civil servants, mayors, etc.). She also intervenes in compliance and internal investigations, from criminal risk assessment to the implementation of compliance systems and the conclusion of deferred prosecution agreements.

Companies are indeed subject to strict regulations regarding anti-money laundering and counter-terrorist financing (AML-CFT), anti-corruption, environmental vigilance, and data protection. They must implement appropriate systems and internal procedures, which they must be able to justify before public and judicial authorities.

Business Litigation and Information Warfare

+

Alice Zarka advises legal entities and their executives in the context of their economic activities, both nationally and internationally. She intervenes both upstream, in defining para-criminal strategies, and downstream, in implementing appropriate defense policies.

She has developed specific expertise in reputational damage repair, supporting her clients against attacks on their image in the media space. In this capacity, she intervenes notably to enable the continuation or termination of business relationships, obtain the removal of prejudicial articles or comments, and secure damages.

These situations may justify the mobilization of several branches of law, such as European anti-money laundering and counter-terrorist financing directives (AML-CFT), the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR), the European Digital Services Act (DSA), the French Law for Confidence in the Digital Economy (LCEN), or unfair competition law, notably in the forms of denigration, confusion, disorganization, or parasitism.

Human Rights

+

Alice Zarka intervenes in all matters related to human rights to defend the interests of individuals and associations, particularly in the context of investigations opened for war crimes, crimes against humanity, crimes of aggression, and genocide. She regularly travels abroad. She has notably been involved in assize trials relating to the Tutsi genocide in Rwanda and the Syrian civil war.

Thus accustomed to particularly sensitive cases, she is able to provide expertise for the protection of human rights and defense rights. She also has particular expertise in business human rights law, which involves the protection of human rights and the imperatives of corporate economic life.

Immigration Law and Asylum

+

Alice Zarka assists foreign nationals upon their entry into France (visa, waiting zone), during their stay, and in removal proceedings (obligation to leave French territory - OQTF, deportation, expulsion, ban from French territory - IRTF) before criminal, civil, and administrative courts.

She also assists refugees in their asylum applications.

Protected Adults and Defense of Minors

+

Alice Zarka works alongside minors, protected adults, their families, and guardianship representatives to advise them, support them, and take any action necessary to preserve the interests and rights of the protected person before the competent courts.
